{"surah" : 56, "verses" : [{"a" : 1, "ar" : "إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ", "en" : "When the Occurrence occurs,"}, {"a" : 2, "ar" : "لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ", "en" : "There is, at its occurrence, no denial."}, {"a" : 3, "ar" : "خَافِضَةٌۭ رَّافِعَةٌ", "en" : "It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]."}, {"a" : 4, "ar" : "إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ رَجًّۭا", "en" : "When the earth is shaken with convulsion"}, {"a" : 5, "ar" : "وَبُسَّتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ بَسًّۭا", "en" : "And the mountains are broken down, crumbling"}, {"a" : 6, "ar" : "فَكَانَتْ هَبَآءًۭ مُّنۢبَثًّۭا", "en" : "And become dust dispersing."}, {"a" : 7, "ar" : "وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا ثَلَٰثَةًۭ", "en" : "And you become [of] three kinds:"}, {"a" : 8, "ar" : "فَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ", "en" : "Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?"}, {"a" : 9, "ar" : "وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ", "en" : "And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?"}, {"a" : 10, "ar" : "وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ", "en" : "And the forerunners, the forerunners -"}, {"a" : 11, "ar" : "أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ", "en" : "Those are the ones brought near [to Allah]"}, {"a" : 12, "ar" : "فِى جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ", "en" : "In the Gardens of Pleasure,"}, {"a" : 13, "ar" : "ثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ", "en" : "A [large] company of the former peoples"}, {"a" : 14, "ar" : "وَقَلِيلٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ", "en" : "And a few of the later peoples,"}, {"a" : 15, "ar" : "عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍۢ مَّوْضُونَةٍۢ", "en" : "On thrones woven [with ornament],"}, {"a" : 16, "ar" : "مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ", "en" : "Reclining on them, facing each other."}, {"a" : 17, "ar" : "يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌۭ مُّخَلَّدُونَ", "en" : "There will circulate among them young boys made eternal"}, {"a" : 18, "ar" : "بِأَكْوَابٍۢ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍۢ مِّن مَّعِينٍۢ", "en" : "With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring -"}, {"a" : 19, "ar" : "لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ", "en" : "No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated -"}, {"a" : 20, "ar" : "وَفَٰكِهَةٍۢ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ", "en" : "And fruit of what they select"}, {"a" : 21, "ar" : "وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍۢ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ", "en" : "And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire."}, {"a" : 22, "ar" : "وَحُورٌ عِينٌۭ", "en" : "And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes,"}, {"a" : 23, "ar" : "كَأَمْثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤْلُؤِ ٱلْمَكْنُونِ", "en" : "The likenesses of pearls well-protected,"}, {"a" : 24, "ar" : "جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ", "en" : "As reward for what they used to do."}, {"a" : 25, "ar" : "لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًۭا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا", "en" : "They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin -"}, {"a" : 26, "ar" : "إِلَّا قِيلًۭا سَلَٰمًۭا سَلَٰمًۭا", "en" : "Only a saying: \"Peace, peace.\""}, {"a" : 27, "ar" : "وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ", "en" : "The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?"}, {"a" : 28, "ar" : "فِى سِدْرٍۢ مَّخْضُودٍۢ", "en" : "[They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed"}, {"a" : 29, "ar" : "وَطَلْحٍۢ مَّنضُودٍۢ", "en" : "And [banana] trees layered [with fruit]"}, {"a" : 30, "ar" : "وَظِلٍّۢ مَّمْدُودٍۢ", "en" : "And shade extended"}, {"a" : 31, "ar" : "وَمَآءٍۢ مَّسْكُوبٍۢ", "en" : "And water poured out"}, {"a" : 32, "ar" : "وَفَٰكِهَةٍۢ كَثِيرَةٍۢ", "en" : "And fruit, abundant [and varied],"}, {"a" : 33, "ar" : "لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍۢ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍۢ", "en" : "Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden,"}, {"a" : 34, "ar" : "وَفُرُشٍۢ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ", "en" : "And [upon] beds raised high."}, {"a" : 35, "ar" : "إِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءًۭ", "en" : "Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation"}, {"a" : 36, "ar" : "فَجَعَلْنَٰهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا", "en" : "And made them virgins,"}, {"a" : 37, "ar" : "عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًۭا", "en" : "Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age,"}, {"a" : 38, "ar" : "لِّأَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ", "en" : "For the companions of the right [who are]"}, {"a" : 39, "ar" : "ثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ", "en" : "A company of the former peoples"}, {"a" : 40, "ar" : "وَثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ", "en" : "And a company of the later peoples."}, {"a" : 41, "ar" : "وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ", "en" : "And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?"}, {"a" : 42, "ar" : "فِى سَمُومٍۢ وَحَمِيمٍۢ", "en" : "[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water"}, {"a" : 43, "ar" : "وَظِلٍّۢ مِّن يَحْمُومٍۢ", "en" : "And a shade of black smoke,"}, {"a" : 44, "ar" : "لَّا بَارِدٍۢ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ", "en" : "Neither cool nor beneficial."}, {"a" : 45, "ar" : "إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ", "en" : "Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence,"}, {"a" : 46, "ar" : "وَكَانُوا۟ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلْحِنثِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ", "en" : "And they used to persist in the great violation,"}, {"a" : 47, "ar" : "وَكَانُوا۟ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ", "en" : "And they used to say, \"When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?"}, {"a" : 48, "ar" : "أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ", "en" : "And our forefathers [as well]?\""}, {"a" : 49, "ar" : "قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلْءَاخِرِينَ", "en" : "Say, [O Muhammad], \"Indeed, the former and the later peoples"}, {"a" : 50, "ar" : "لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ", "en" : "Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day.\""}, {"a" : 51, "ar" : "ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَ", "en" : "Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers,"}, {"a" : 52, "ar" : "لَءَاكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍۢ مِّن زَقُّومٍۢ", "en" : "Will be eating from trees of zaqqum"}, {"a" : 53, "ar" : "فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ", "en" : "And filling with it your bellies"}, {"a" : 54, "ar" : "فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ", "en" : "And drinking on top of it from scalding water"}, {"a" : 55, "ar" : "فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِ", "en" : "And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels."}, {"a" : 56, "ar" : "هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ", "en" : "That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense."}, {"a" : 57, "ar" : "نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ", "en" : "We have created you, so why do you not believe?"}, {"a" : 58, "ar" : "أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ", "en" : "Have you seen that which you emit?"}, {"a" : 59, "ar" : "ءَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُونَ", "en" : "Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator?"}, {"a" : 60, "ar" : "نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ", "en" : "We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone"}, {"a" : 61, "ar" : "عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَٰلَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِى مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ", "en" : "In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know."}, {"a" : 62, "ar" : "وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ", "en" : "And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember?"}, {"a" : 63, "ar" : "أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ", "en" : "And have you seen that [seed] which you sow?"}, {"a" : 64, "ar" : "ءَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَ", "en" : "Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower?"}, {"a" : 65, "ar" : "لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَٰهُ حُطَٰمًۭا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ", "en" : "If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder,"}, {"a" : 66, "ar" : "إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ", "en" : "[Saying], \"Indeed, we are [now] in debt;"}, {"a" : 67, "ar" : "بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ", "en" : "Rather, we have been deprived.\""}, {"a" : 68, "ar" : "أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلْمَآءَ ٱلَّذِى تَشْرَبُونَ", "en" : "And have you seen the water that you drink?"}, {"a" : 69, "ar" : "ءَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنزِلُونَ", "en" : "Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down?"}, {"a" : 70, "ar" : "لَوْ نَشَآءُ جَعَلْنَٰهُ أُجَاجًۭا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ", "en" : "If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful?"}, {"a" : 71, "ar" : "أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِى تُورُونَ", "en" : "And have you seen the fire that you ignite?"}, {"a" : 72, "ar" : "ءَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنشِـُٔونَ", "en" : "Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer?"}, {"a" : 73, "ar" : "نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَٰهَا تَذْكِرَةًۭ وَمَتَٰعًۭا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ", "en" : "We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers,"}, {"a" : 74, "ar" : "فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ", "en" : "So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great."}, {"a" : 75, "ar" : "۞ فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ", "en" : "Then I swear by the setting of the stars,"}, {"a" : 76, "ar" : "وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٌۭ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ", "en" : "And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great."}, {"a" : 77, "ar" : "إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرْءَانٌۭ كَرِيمٌۭ", "en" : "Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an"}, {"a" : 78, "ar" : "فِى كِتَٰبٍۢ مَّكْنُونٍۢ", "en" : "In a Register well-protected;"}, {"a" : 79, "ar" : "لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَ", "en" : "None touch it except the purified."}, {"a" : 80, "ar" : "تَنزِيلٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ", "en" : "[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds."}, {"a" : 81, "ar" : "أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ", "en" : "Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent"}, {"a" : 82, "ar" : "وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ", "en" : "And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]?"}, {"a" : 83, "ar" : "فَلَوْلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلْحُلْقُومَ", "en" : "Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat"}, {"a" : 84, "ar" : "وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍۢ تَنظُرُونَ", "en" : "And you are at that time looking on -"}, {"a" : 85, "ar" : "وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ", "en" : "And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see -"}, {"a" : 86, "ar" : "فَلَوْلَآ إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ", "en" : "Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed,"}, {"a" : 87, "ar" : "تَرْجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ", "en" : "Bring it back, if you should be truthful?"}, {"a" : 88, "ar" : "فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ", "en" : "And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah,"}, {"a" : 89, "ar" : "فَرَوْحٌۭ وَرَيْحَانٌۭ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍۢ", "en" : "Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure."}, {"a" : 90, "ar" : "وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ", "en" : "And if he was of the companions of the right,"}, {"a" : 91, "ar" : "فَسَلَٰمٌۭ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ", "en" : "Then [the angels will say], \"Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right.\""}, {"a" : 92, "ar" : "وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ", "en" : "But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray,"}, {"a" : 93, "ar" : "فَنُزُلٌۭ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍۢ", "en" : "Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water"}, {"a" : 94, "ar" : "وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ", "en" : "And burning in Hellfire"}, {"a" : 95, "ar" : "إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ", "en" : "Indeed, this is the true certainty,"}, {"a" : 96, "ar" : "فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ", "en" : "So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great."}]}
