{"surah" : 69, "verses" : [{"a" : 1, "ar" : "ٱلْحَآقَّةُ", "en" : "The Inevitable Reality -"}, {"a" : 2, "ar" : "مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ", "en" : "What is the Inevitable Reality?"}, {"a" : 3, "ar" : "وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ", "en" : "And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality?"}, {"a" : 4, "ar" : "كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌۢ بِٱلْقَارِعَةِ", "en" : "Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity."}, {"a" : 5, "ar" : "فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا۟ بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ", "en" : "So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]."}, {"a" : 6, "ar" : "وَأَمَّا عَادٌۭ فَأُهْلِكُوا۟ بِرِيحٍۢ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍۢ", "en" : "And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind"}, {"a" : 7, "ar" : "سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍۢ وَثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًۭا فَتَرَى ٱلْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍۢ", "en" : "Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees."}, {"a" : 8, "ar" : "فَهَلْ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّنۢ بَاقِيَةٍۢ", "en" : "Then do you see of them any remains?"}, {"a" : 9, "ar" : "وَجَآءَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَن قَبْلَهُۥ وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَٰتُ بِٱلْخَاطِئَةِ", "en" : "And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin."}, {"a" : 10, "ar" : "فَعَصَوْا۟ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةًۭ رَّابِيَةً", "en" : "And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]."}, {"a" : 11, "ar" : "إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلْمَآءُ حَمَلْنَٰكُمْ فِى ٱلْجَارِيَةِ", "en" : "Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship"}, {"a" : 12, "ar" : "لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةًۭ وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنٌۭ وَٰعِيَةٌۭ", "en" : "That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it."}, {"a" : 13, "ar" : "فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌۭ وَٰحِدَةٌۭ", "en" : "Then when the Horn is blown with one blast"}, {"a" : 14, "ar" : "وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَٱلْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ", "en" : "And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow -"}, {"a" : 15, "ar" : "فَيَوْمَئِذٍۢ وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ", "en" : "Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur,"}, {"a" : 16, "ar" : "وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِىَ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ وَاهِيَةٌۭ", "en" : "And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm."}, {"a" : 17, "ar" : "وَٱلْمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرْجَآئِهَا ۚ وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ ثَمَٰنِيَةٌۭ", "en" : "And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]."}, {"a" : 18, "ar" : "يَوْمَئِذٍۢ تُعْرَضُونَ لَا تَخْفَىٰ مِنكُمْ خَافِيَةٌۭ", "en" : "That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed."}, {"a" : 19, "ar" : "فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ هَآؤُمُ ٱقْرَءُوا۟ كِتَٰبِيَهْ", "en" : "So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, \"Here, read my record!"}, {"a" : 20, "ar" : "إِنِّى ظَنَنتُ أَنِّى مُلَٰقٍ حِسَابِيَهْ", "en" : "Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account.\""}, {"a" : 21, "ar" : "فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍۢ رَّاضِيَةٍۢ", "en" : "So he will be in a pleasant life -"}, {"a" : 22, "ar" : "فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍۢ", "en" : "In an elevated garden,"}, {"a" : 23, "ar" : "قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٌۭ", "en" : "Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near."}, {"a" : 24, "ar" : "كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَآ أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَيَّامِ ٱلْخَالِيَةِ", "en" : "[They will be told], \"Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past.\""}, {"a" : 25, "ar" : "وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهْ", "en" : "But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, \"Oh, I wish I had not been given my record"}, {"a" : 26, "ar" : "وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهْ", "en" : "And had not known what is my account."}, {"a" : 27, "ar" : "يَٰلَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلْقَاضِيَةَ", "en" : "I wish my death had been the decisive one."}, {"a" : 28, "ar" : "مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنِّى مَالِيَهْ ۜ", "en" : "My wealth has not availed me."}, {"a" : 29, "ar" : "هَلَكَ عَنِّى سُلْطَٰنِيَهْ", "en" : "Gone from me is my authority.\""}, {"a" : 30, "ar" : "خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ", "en" : "[Allah will say], \"Seize him and shackle him."}, {"a" : 31, "ar" : "ثُمَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ", "en" : "Then into Hellfire drive him."}, {"a" : 32, "ar" : "ثُمَّ فِى سِلْسِلَةٍۢ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًۭا فَٱسْلُكُوهُ", "en" : "Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him.\""}, {"a" : 33, "ar" : "إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ", "en" : "Indeed, he did not used to believe in Allah, the Most Great,"}, {"a" : 34, "ar" : "وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ", "en" : "Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor."}, {"a" : 35, "ar" : "فَلَيْسَ لَهُ ٱلْيَوْمَ هَٰهُنَا حَمِيمٌۭ", "en" : "So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend"}, {"a" : 36, "ar" : "وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍۢ", "en" : "Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds;"}, {"a" : 37, "ar" : "لَّا يَأْكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْخَٰطِـُٔونَ", "en" : "None will eat it except the sinners."}, {"a" : 38, "ar" : "فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ", "en" : "So I swear by what you see"}, {"a" : 39, "ar" : "وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ", "en" : "And what you do not see"}, {"a" : 40, "ar" : "إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍۢ كَرِيمٍۢ", "en" : "[That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messenger."}, {"a" : 41, "ar" : "وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍۢ ۚ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تُؤْمِنُونَ", "en" : "And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe."}, {"a" : 42, "ar" : "وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍۢ ۚ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ", "en" : "Nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember."}, {"a" : 43, "ar" : "تَنزِيلٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ", "en" : "[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds."}, {"a" : 44, "ar" : "وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ ٱلْأَقَاوِيلِ", "en" : "And if Muhammad had made up about Us some [false] sayings,"}, {"a" : 45, "ar" : "لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِٱلْيَمِينِ", "en" : "We would have seized him by the right hand;"}, {"a" : 46, "ar" : "ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ ٱلْوَتِينَ", "en" : "Then We would have cut from him the aorta."}, {"a" : 47, "ar" : "فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَٰجِزِينَ", "en" : "And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him."}, {"a" : 48, "ar" : "وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذْكِرَةٌۭ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ", "en" : "And indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder for the righteous."}, {"a" : 49, "ar" : "وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ", "en" : "And indeed, We know that among you are deniers."}, {"a" : 50, "ar" : "وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ", "en" : "And indeed, it will be [a cause of] regret upon the disbelievers."}, {"a" : 51, "ar" : "وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ", "en" : "And indeed, it is the truth of certainty."}, {"a" : 52, "ar" : "فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ", "en" : "So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great."}]}
