{"surah" : 70, "verses" : [{"a" : 1, "ar" : "سَأَلَ سَآئِلٌۢ بِعَذَابٍۢ وَاقِعٍۢ", "en" : "A supplicant asked for a punishment bound to happen"}, {"a" : 2, "ar" : "لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُۥ دَافِعٌۭ", "en" : "To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer."}, {"a" : 3, "ar" : "مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ذِى ٱلْمَعَارِجِ", "en" : "[It is] from Allah, owner of the ways of ascent."}, {"a" : 4, "ar" : "تَعْرُجُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِ فِى يَوْمٍۢ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُۥ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍۢ", "en" : "The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years."}, {"a" : 5, "ar" : "فَٱصْبِرْ صَبْرًۭا جَمِيلًا", "en" : "So be patient with gracious patience."}, {"a" : 6, "ar" : "إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُۥ بَعِيدًۭا", "en" : "Indeed, they see it [as] distant,"}, {"a" : 7, "ar" : "وَنَرَىٰهُ قَرِيبًۭا", "en" : "But We see it [as] near."}, {"a" : 8, "ar" : "يَوْمَ تَكُونُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ كَٱلْمُهْلِ", "en" : "On the Day the sky will be like murky oil,"}, {"a" : 9, "ar" : "وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ", "en" : "And the mountains will be like wool,"}, {"a" : 10, "ar" : "وَلَا يَسْـَٔلُ حَمِيمٌ حَمِيمًۭا", "en" : "And no friend will ask [anything of] a friend,"}, {"a" : 11, "ar" : "يُبَصَّرُونَهُمْ ۚ يَوَدُّ ٱلْمُجْرِمُ لَوْ يَفْتَدِى مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمِئِذٍۭ بِبَنِيهِ", "en" : "They will be shown each other. The criminal will wish that he could be ransomed from the punishment of that Day by his children"}, {"a" : 12, "ar" : "وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَأَخِيهِ", "en" : "And his wife and his brother"}, {"a" : 13, "ar" : "وَفَصِيلَتِهِ ٱلَّتِى تُـْٔوِيهِ", "en" : "And his nearest kindred who shelter him"}, {"a" : 14, "ar" : "وَمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًۭا ثُمَّ يُنجِيهِ", "en" : "And whoever is on earth entirely [so] then it could save him."}, {"a" : 15, "ar" : "كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّهَا لَظَىٰ", "en" : "No! Indeed, it is the Flame [of Hell],"}, {"a" : 16, "ar" : "نَزَّاعَةًۭ لِّلشَّوَىٰ", "en" : "A remover of exteriors."}, {"a" : 17, "ar" : "تَدْعُوا۟ مَنْ أَدْبَرَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ", "en" : "It invites he who turned his back [on truth] and went away [from obedience]"}, {"a" : 18, "ar" : "وَجَمَعَ فَأَوْعَىٰٓ", "en" : "And collected [wealth] and hoarded."}, {"a" : 19, "ar" : "۞ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا", "en" : "Indeed, mankind was created anxious:"}, {"a" : 20, "ar" : "إِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ جَزُوعًۭا", "en" : "When evil touches him, impatient,"}, {"a" : 21, "ar" : "وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلْخَيْرُ مَنُوعًا", "en" : "And when good touches him, withholding [of it],"}, {"a" : 22, "ar" : "إِلَّا ٱلْمُصَلِّينَ", "en" : "Except the observers of prayer -"}, {"a" : 23, "ar" : "ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ دَآئِمُونَ", "en" : "Those who are constant in their prayer"}, {"a" : 24, "ar" : "وَٱلَّذِينَ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّۭ مَّعْلُومٌۭ", "en" : "And those within whose wealth is a known right"}, {"a" : 25, "ar" : "لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ", "en" : "For the petitioner and the deprived -"}, {"a" : 26, "ar" : "وَٱلَّذِينَ يُصَدِّقُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ", "en" : "And those who believe in the Day of Recompense"}, {"a" : 27, "ar" : "وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ", "en" : "And those who are fearful of the punishment of their Lord -"}, {"a" : 28, "ar" : "إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّهِمْ غَيْرُ مَأْمُونٍۢ", "en" : "Indeed, the punishment of their Lord is not that from which one is safe -"}, {"a" : 29, "ar" : "وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَٰفِظُونَ", "en" : "And those who guard their private parts"}, {"a" : 30, "ar" : "إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ", "en" : "Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed -"}, {"a" : 31, "ar" : "فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ", "en" : "But whoever seeks beyond that, then they are the transgressors -"}, {"a" : 32, "ar" : "وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ", "en" : "And those who are to their trusts and promises attentive"}, {"a" : 33, "ar" : "وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِشَهَٰدَٰتِهِمْ قَآئِمُونَ", "en" : "And those who are in their testimonies upright"}, {"a" : 34, "ar" : "وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ", "en" : "And those who [carefully] maintain their prayer:"}, {"a" : 35, "ar" : "أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ مُّكْرَمُونَ", "en" : "They will be in gardens, honored."}, {"a" : 36, "ar" : "فَمَالِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ قِبَلَكَ مُهْطِعِينَ", "en" : "So what is [the matter] with those who disbelieve, hastening [from] before you, [O Muhammad],"}, {"a" : 37, "ar" : "عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ عِزِينَ", "en" : "[To sit] on [your] right and [your] left in separate groups?"}, {"a" : 38, "ar" : "أَيَطْمَعُ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُدْخَلَ جَنَّةَ نَعِيمٍۢ", "en" : "Does every person among them aspire to enter a garden of pleasure?"}, {"a" : 39, "ar" : "كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُم مِّمَّا يَعْلَمُونَ", "en" : "No! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know."}, {"a" : 40, "ar" : "فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلْمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَ", "en" : "So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings that indeed We are able"}, {"a" : 41, "ar" : "عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ خَيْرًۭا مِّنْهُمْ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ", "en" : "To replace them with better than them; and We are not to be outdone."}, {"a" : 42, "ar" : "فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا۟ وَيَلْعَبُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ", "en" : "So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised -"}, {"a" : 43, "ar" : "يَوْمَ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ سِرَاعًۭا كَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ نُصُبٍۢ يُوفِضُونَ", "en" : "The Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if they were, toward an erected idol, hastening."}, {"a" : 44, "ar" : "خَٰشِعَةً أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌۭ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ", "en" : "Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the Day which they had been promised."}]}
