{"surah" : 72, "verses" : [{"a" : 1, "ar" : "قُلْ أُوحِىَ إِلَىَّ أَنَّهُ ٱسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْءَانًا عَجَبًۭا", "en" : "Say, [O Muhammad], \"It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an."}, {"a" : 2, "ar" : "يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلرُّشْدِ فَـَٔامَنَّا بِهِۦ ۖ وَلَن نُّشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَآ أَحَدًۭا", "en" : "It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone."}, {"a" : 3, "ar" : "وَأَنَّهُۥ تَعَٰلَىٰ جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا ٱتَّخَذَ صَٰحِبَةًۭ وَلَا وَلَدًۭا", "en" : "And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son"}, {"a" : 4, "ar" : "وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ يَقُولُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ شَطَطًۭا", "en" : "And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression."}, {"a" : 5, "ar" : "وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن تَقُولَ ٱلْإِنسُ وَٱلْجِنُّ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًۭا", "en" : "And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie."}, {"a" : 6, "ar" : "وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ رِجَالٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْإِنسِ يَعُوذُونَ بِرِجَالٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمْ رَهَقًۭا", "en" : "And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden."}, {"a" : 7, "ar" : "وَأَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوا۟ كَمَا ظَنَنتُمْ أَن لَّن يَبْعَثَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدًۭا", "en" : "And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger]."}, {"a" : 8, "ar" : "وَأَنَّا لَمَسْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ فَوَجَدْنَٰهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَسًۭا شَدِيدًۭا وَشُهُبًۭا", "en" : "And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames."}, {"a" : 9, "ar" : "وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَٰعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ ۖ فَمَن يَسْتَمِعِ ٱلْءَانَ يَجِدْ لَهُۥ شِهَابًۭا رَّصَدًۭا", "en" : "And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him."}, {"a" : 10, "ar" : "وَأَنَّا لَا نَدْرِىٓ أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَمْ أَرَادَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَدًۭا", "en" : "And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course."}, {"a" : 11, "ar" : "وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ كُنَّا طَرَآئِقَ قِدَدًۭا", "en" : "And among us are the righteous, and among us are [others] not so; we were [of] divided ways."}, {"a" : 12, "ar" : "وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن نُّعْجِزَ ٱللَّهَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَن نُّعْجِزَهُۥ هَرَبًۭا", "en" : "And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allah upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight."}, {"a" : 13, "ar" : "وَأَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعْنَا ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ ۖ فَمَن يُؤْمِنۢ بِرَبِّهِۦ فَلَا يَخَافُ بَخْسًۭا وَلَا رَهَقًۭا", "en" : "And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden."}, {"a" : 14, "ar" : "وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلْمُسْلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا ٱلْقَٰسِطُونَ ۖ فَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ تَحَرَّوْا۟ رَشَدًۭا", "en" : "And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course."}, {"a" : 15, "ar" : "وَأَمَّا ٱلْقَٰسِطُونَ فَكَانُوا۟ لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبًۭا", "en" : "But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.'"}, {"a" : 16, "ar" : "وَأَلَّوِ ٱسْتَقَٰمُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسْقَيْنَٰهُم مَّآءً غَدَقًۭا", "en" : "And [Allah revealed] that if they had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant provision"}, {"a" : 17, "ar" : "لِّنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ ۚ وَمَن يُعْرِضْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِۦ يَسْلُكْهُ عَذَابًۭا صَعَدًۭا", "en" : "So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment."}, {"a" : 18, "ar" : "وَأَنَّ ٱلْمَسَٰجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدًۭا", "en" : "And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone."}, {"a" : 19, "ar" : "وَأَنَّهُۥ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ ٱللَّهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا۟ يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًۭا", "en" : "And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass.\""}, {"a" : 20, "ar" : "قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَدْعُوا۟ رَبِّى وَلَآ أُشْرِكُ بِهِۦٓ أَحَدًۭا", "en" : "Say, [O Muhammad], \"I only invoke my Lord and do not associate with Him anyone.\""}, {"a" : 21, "ar" : "قُلْ إِنِّى لَآ أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّۭا وَلَا رَشَدًۭا", "en" : "Say, \"Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction.\""}, {"a" : 22, "ar" : "قُلْ إِنِّى لَن يُجِيرَنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدٌۭ وَلَنْ أَجِدَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مُلْتَحَدًا", "en" : "Say, \"Indeed, there will never protect me from Allah anyone [if I should disobey], nor will I find in other than Him a refuge."}, {"a" : 23, "ar" : "إِلَّا بَلَٰغًۭا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِسَٰلَٰتِهِۦ ۚ وَمَن يَعْصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا", "en" : "But [I have for you] only notification from Allah, and His messages.\" And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger - then indeed, for him is the fire of Hell; they will abide therein forever."}, {"a" : 24, "ar" : "حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوْا۟ مَا يُوعَدُونَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ أَضْعَفُ نَاصِرًۭا وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدًۭا", "en" : "[The disbelievers continue] until, when they see that which they are promised, then they will know who is weaker in helpers and less in number."}, {"a" : 25, "ar" : "قُلْ إِنْ أَدْرِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌۭ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ أَمْ يَجْعَلُ لَهُۥ رَبِّىٓ أَمَدًا", "en" : "Say, \"I do not know if what you are promised is near or if my Lord will grant for it a [long] period.\""}, {"a" : 26, "ar" : "عَٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيْبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا", "en" : "[He is] Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] unseen to anyone"}, {"a" : 27, "ar" : "إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرْتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٍۢ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَسْلُكُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِۦ رَصَدًۭا", "en" : "Except whom He has approved of messengers, and indeed, He sends before each messenger and behind him observers"}, {"a" : 28, "ar" : "لِّيَعْلَمَ أَن قَدْ أَبْلَغُوا۟ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ وَأَحْصَىٰ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عَدَدًۢا", "en" : "That he may know that they have conveyed the messages of their Lord; and He has encompassed whatever is with them and has enumerated all things in number."}]}
