Four-letter roots
The Qur'an uses 40 roots of four letters, 96 times in all. Some may grow from a three-letter root. This page shows only the letter evidence. A mapping is a claim a translator makes, and a moderator other than them accepts or rejects it with a reason.

What a letter match means
A letter match is a three-letter root used in the Qur'an whose letters sit, in the same order, inside the four-letter root once one letter is set aside. It is a fact about spelling, not about meaning.
No mapping is made automatically. Every corpus root of four or more letters is listed, including those with no match; the Qur'an has no five-letter roots in this corpus.
