Terms of Service

A few simple
rules.

Plain language. Read once, refer to whenever you need.

What Bayyina is

Bayyina is a reading tool for the Qur'an. It shows you the Arabic, the words, and the roots — and helps a community translate carefully. It is not a teacher, a mufti, or a substitute for the Arabic itself.

Your account

You're responsible for the account you create and the work you submit under it. Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Don't impersonate anyone, and don't use the service to harass or harm others.

Your contributions

When you propose a translation, vote, or write a note, you're contributing to a public, openly auditable lexicon. By submitting work you grant Bayyina a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store, and build on that work for the project's purpose. Your name (or chosen handle) may be shown next to it.

Acceptable use

  • Be honest with the text. Don't submit work you know to be wrong.
  • No abuse, hate, or content that wouldn't fit a serious study of the Qur'an.
  • Don't try to break, scrape at scale, or overload the service.

What we don't promise

Bayyina is provided as-is. The English translations — including community work — can be wrong. The Arabic is the real text. We don't guarantee uptime, and we may change features as the project grows.

Ending things

You can delete your account whenever you want. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. If we ever shut the service down, we'll give reasonable notice and let you export your work.

Changes

If we materially change these terms, we'll update this page and, where appropriate, notify signed-in users. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
